What Does AWANA Mean?

The letters are from II Timothy 2:15 and stand for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.

The Purpose Of AWANA:

To reach boys and girls with the gospel of Jesus Christ and train them to serve Him.

Attendance:

Points are awarded for attendance, dues, bringing your Bible to Club, sections in entrance test or handbook, being in uniform and for attending Sunday School.

Club Attendance Awards:

Clubbers are allowed only one unexcused absence from club during each attendance period.
First award session: September 3 - October22
Second award session: October 29 - January 7
Third award session: January 14 - March 4 
Fourth award session: March 11 - May 6

Sunday School Attendance Awards:

A Clubber may not miss Sunday School more than three times during the award session.
First S.S. award session: September 3 - January 7
Second S.S. award session: January 14 - May 6

Our club meets on Wednesday nights from 6:30 till 8:15 PM.
Our AWANA Clubs are:

Cubbies: the two years before entering kindergarten ( parent or responsible adult must be in the church during AWANA ).

Sparks: kindergartners through second grade boys and girls.

Pals & Pioneers: third through sixth grade boys.

Chums & Guards: third through sixth grade girls.

An AWANA Club meeting consists of three parts: games, handbook time and a Bible story time. While our facilities and equipment are supplied by the church, each Clubber should bring $.50 weekly to provide special supplies.

The entrance booklet is the first step in AWANA achievement.
After completing the entrance booklet and attending three AWANA meetings, a child is eligible to earn more awards as a member of AWANA. (S)he will then be able to purchase:

A Handbook:
... T & T Handbook - $7.00
... Cubbies & Sparks Handbook - $6.50

A Uniform:
... T & T Shirt - $12.50
... Sparks vest - $10.25
... Cubbies Vest - $8.00
... Chums, Guards, Pals and Pioneers shirt - $18.50

We want to work with you in providing balanced physical, social, mental and spiritual activities for your child.

If you do not have a church home, we would like to invite you to visit our church. Sunday School (for all ages) and worship services meet at 9:15 and 10:45 on Sunday mornings. Our Sunday evening service is at 7:00 PM. Prayer meeting is from 7:00 to 8:00 on Wednesday evenings. We invite you to come as a visitor and leave as a friend!
